Inclusive Leadership Retreat

The Inclusive Leadership Retreat is an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to gain skills in active listening and inclusive language, as well as an understanding of the Sustained Dialogue relationship model and the Dialogue to Action process. Participants will learn to effectively navigate conflict, practice using dialogue to talk about things that really matter to them, learn how to use dialogue, not debate, in tough moments of disagreement, and learn strategies for equitable facilitation. These skills are transferable to the classroom, club and organization leadership, communicating with supervisors, and navigating job interviews!

The training is FREE and open to Appalachian students, faculty, staff, and administrators. All meals are included. Participants will also receive a Sustained Dialogue certificate!

The 2022 Inclusive Leadership Retreat will be held on Friday, March 18th - Sunday, March 20th in the Plemmons Student Union.
