Moderator Training

Sustained Dialogue Moderator Training is an opportunity for students, faculty, and staff to gain skills in active listening and inclusive language, as well as an understanding of the Sustained Dialogue relationship model and the Dialogue to Action process. Participants will learn to effectively navigate conflict, practice using dialogue to talk about things that really matter to them, learn how to use dialogue, not debate, in tough moments of disagreement, and learn strategies for equitable facilitation. These skills are transferable to the classroom, club and organization leadership, communicating with supervisors, and navigating job interviews!

The training is FREE and open to Appalachian students, faculty, staff, and administrators. Participants who complete the training will receive a Sustained Dialogue certificate!

Trainings are available in the spring, summer, and fall semesters. Reach out to Cori Ferguson to register!
